Rowan atkinson "Mr.Bean" accident

Rowan Sebastian Atkinson (born 6 January 1955) is an English comedian, screenwriter, and actor. He is most famous for his work on the satirical sketch comedy show Not The Nine O'Clock News, and the sitcoms Blackadder and Mr. Bean. He has been listed in The Observer as one of the 50 funniest actors in British comedy, and amongst the top 50 comedy actors ever in a 2005 poll of fellow comedians.

Reports are coming in that early this evening, August 4th 2011, Rowan Atkinson best know for his character of Mr Bean, crashed his McLaren F1. Reports state that he lost control, spinning several times before smashing into a tree and lamppost before the F1 set on fire. Lucky he managed to pull himself from the accident before been seen to by paramedics and taken to hospital.

A witness to the aftermath stated “no pics needless to say but the left hand door had been cut away and the whole left hand side of the car was wrecked and bent twisted. It was ruined. It looked like he lost control on the wet road and hit the trees at some speed.”

Mr. Bean always gets himself into some trouble or other but always walks away scot-free. This time Mr. Bean actor Rowan Atkinson does it in real life! The British actor crashed his McLaren F1 supercar last night in Cambridge, England. Luckily, he survived with only a minor shoulder injury.

Apparently, Atkinson lost control of his supercar and then it spun several times before crashing into a tree and a lamp post. And it didn’t stop there. His McLaren F1 supercar caught fire! He was able to get out of the car before the fire occurred. Firefighters arrived shortly to put out the fire. A good Samaritan, another motorist, assisted Atkinson before the emergency services arrived.

Upon arriving at the scene police administered a sobriety test to Atkinson, who did not appear to be intoxicated or under the influence of any controlled substances so no charges were filed. Unfortunately for the McLaren F1 (which Atkinson bought for around $1 million and can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds and is capable of reaching 230 miles per hour), it was engulfed in flames upon impact and was totaled.

Thankfully, Atkinson was released from the hospital in Cambridge where he received treatment earlier this morning. The Peterborough and Stamford Hospital Communications Office told E! News that Atkinson did in fact receive treatment for an injury to his shoulder, but refrained from revealing what kind of treatment. The actor is no stranger to high speed crashes, as in 1999 he crashed his McLaren (sources aren't sure if this McLaren was the same one that was just totaled) into another car outside of Lancashire.

I must spill the beans. While looking at the man does not exactly give it away, Mr. Bean is an avid exotic car buff and collector. Collecting luxury cars since 1981, Atkinson’s fleet includes a Jaguar XKE, a Lotus Carlton, Bentley Mulsanne, MG X-Power SV, Aston Martin DB7, and the famed McLaren F1 supercar he crashed. Bean has stated he will never own is a Porsche. I suppose he will not be comparing notes with Seinfeld any time soon.
